Over the past week the internet has been abuzz with a lot of stock video footage of the upcoming 2012 M5 sedan. These videos show off the new tough guy appearance that begins at the elongated kidney styled front end and fortunately ends at an unBangled back side. I love the look of this car but I’m not sure if it is only because the last one was such a styling mess.
You can only imagine my excitement when I came across the newest set of Spy Shots taken of the even sexier M6 on the Car and Driver web site. It looks like the M6 designers felt that less is definitely more due to the dropping of the two rear doors the lines that flow over the roof down to the trunk lid have gotten even racier looking. Even the cars camouflage is having a tough time masking the bulging wheel arches and enlarged front air intakes.
Don’t be fooled into thinking that these features are only there for cosmetic purposes as the high revving F1 inspired V10 engine has been replaced with a smaller displacement 4.4 liter V8. Purest need not worry as BMW is following the industries trend of getting more power out of less displacement by bolting on two turbos. These units are so efficient that they allow the V8 to have more horsepower (555 rumored) and torque (500 rumored). Stopping doesn’t look like it will be an issue either as there are huge Captain America Shield like disk brakes at all four corners that are connected to sporty 10-spoke wheels.
With numbers like that it is no surprise that the camouflage is having trouble concealing the cars beautiful lines as it must be just trying to hold on for dear life.
