Audi is extending the A1 family with the introduction of the new A1 Sportback is coming in early 2012.  To put it into Audi’s words “the five-door model is emotional and individual, communicative and youthful, sporty and efficient.”  The A1 Sportback hopes to build on the success of the three-door A1, which has been positively received in Europe.  The Audi A1 Sportback comes standard with four seats however a fifth seat is available on request at no extra charge.

Buyers can choose between three TFSI gasoline and three TDI diesel engines producing between 86 hp and 185 hp.  Audi pairs some engines with the lightning-fast, seven-speed S tronic transmission.  Oh and did we forget to tell you that Audi has not announced that it will be coming to North America, so if you want one you’ll have to apply for european citizenship.
