I hope that your all having a good Good Friday and planing on getting together with friends or family. Since we are not in the office today and the are a little burned out on reporting about the new car releases at this years New York International Auto Show. Instead we though we would share our favourite non auto show video, which was created by the Evo Magazine team.
The premiss of the 12 minute short is to discover if the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta can match the GT credentials of the Aston Martin Vanquish and outperform the wild Lamborghini Aventador? Evo staff writer and now video presenter Henry Catchpole heads to the italian Alps to find out.
Happy Easter everyone and enjoy the below short film.
Lamborghini is not ready just yet to discontinue the Gallardo as the Italian automaker has taken a page out of Pagani’s book and have prepared yet another version of their aging entry-level model which was introduced to the world today at the Paris Motor Show. The Gallardo lineup has been the brands most successful model easily eclipsing the total number of Countach that were sold during its 16 year run. In total just under 13,000 Gallardo’s have rolled out of the Bolognese factory since it was introduced in 2003 as a 2004 model.
The last hurrah of the Gallardo has the same V10 5.2-liter engine producing 560 HP (412 kW) and 397 lb-ft (540 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 6-speed e-gear with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
It comes with restyled 19-inch alloy wheels and is available with an optional Style. package that includes high-gloss black paint on the front spoiler and grilles. The final facelift has a slightly different front bumper with triangular shapes while at the back it has received a new engine vent.
Prestige Imports/Lamborghini Miami and Cinemotive Media proudly presents Project Au79. The Short film producers have indicated that the intention of this video was to show of the high quality work that newly developed Cinemotive Films company. Oh and the film also show cases a hand full of exotic rides ranging from Lamborghini Gallardo’s, and Ferrari 430′s, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG’s and of course the hopefully one day famous gold wrapped Aventator. We say soon to be famous as the short films vimeo page indicates that the cars owner is hopeful that the car will become its own character allowing worldwide photographers and filmmakers to position the car in there camera lens.
It is a little to ostentatious for our tastes but the Aventador is a stunning car no matter what the colour or sheen.

2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 – Front 3/4
When the 2013 LP560-4 goes on sale in November, it will sport new front and rear end treatments calculated to make this Lambo “even more aggressive and more extreme.” The most immediately recognizable change is an expanded grille that spans the entire front end, with bigger air intakes ahead of the front wheels, presumably enhancing brake cooling. The grille incorporates the triangular and trapezoidal elements that distinguish the Gallardo, and the updates are set off by a new set of 19-inch alloy wheels, matte black with polished silver spokes.

For those who are looking for an even more special version than the LP 570-4 Superleggera and the LP 570-4 Spyder Performante, Lamborghini is launching the new Edizione Tecnica.
2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Edizione Tecnica – Front 3/4
This model adopts the upgrades found on the Superleggera and Performante adding a fixed tall rear wing, brakes in carbon-ceramic technology and three new exclusive optional color combinations: Nero Nemesis (matt black) body with Arancio Argos (orange) details; Bianco Canopus (matt white) body with Arancio Argos accents; and Arancio Argos body with Nero Nemesis pillars and front air intakes.

Fans of the Gallardo line up will be very familiar with the Powertrain’s offered on the 2013 models as they remain unchanged. Allied with its six-speed automated manual transmission, the LP560-4’s 5.2-liter direct injection V-10 distributes 542 horsepower to all four wheels, snarling its way from 0 to 60 mph in the low 3-second range—attracting considerable attention as it does so.
Hennessey Performance put together a Lamborghini Aventador and a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster for doing several one-mile drag races to see who’s the boss. According to the American tuner, both cars were factory stock without any sort of modifications. As you can see from this clip, the SLS AMG Roadster doesn’t stand a chance in front of the Aventador with the launch control, not even when the SLS has a considerable head start.
As a reminder, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster is motivated by a V8 6.3-liter engine that pumps out 563 hp (420 kW / 571 PS) and 470 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque, while the Lamborghini Aventador is powered by a larger V12 6.5-liter engine with 690 hp (515 kW / 700 PS) and 509 lb-ft (690 Nm) of torque. The SLS AMG Roadster sprints to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds, while the Aventador needs just 2.9 seconds.
One of the things all gear heads love about exotic super cars is the sounds produced by their high-horsepower engines.
Of course, as with design, when it comes to engine sounds, everybody has different preferences, which makes this competition between a Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 and a Lexus LFA that met up under a tent at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix 2012 event this month all the more interesting.
The scissor-door Lamborghini model features a mid-mounted 6.5-liter V12 engine pushing out 691bhp (700PS) at 8,250 rpm and 690Nm (507 lb-ft) of peak torque at 5,500 rpm.
The limited-run Lexus model, on the other hand, gets a front-mid-mounted 4.8-liter V10 that generates 552-horses at 8,700 rpm and 479Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque at 7,000 rpm.
Bull vs Falcon, Car vs Plane. Today we find out which one is faster down a runway. This video is making the rounds and it is worth spending 3 minutes on so check it out below. The Lamborghini Aventador is one of the quickest and fastest supercars on the market today, but does it have what it takes to beat a fighter jet? Danish car magazine “Bilmagasinet” (literally translated as “car magazine”) aimed to answer this question, and brought both vehicles to an active air field to find out whether or not this bull could beat a little old bird.
Underground racing is at it again and this time they have bolted on two turbochargers to the already powerful V12 engine found in the Lamborghini Aventador. With an Underground Racing Twin Turbo system, this 2012 Aventador is pushing out over 1200HP and reaches 60mph from 0 in an astounding 2.2 seconds.
Have you heard the joke about what happens when a Bugatti Veyron, a Lamborghini Aventador, a Lexus LFA and a McLaren MP4-12C all pull into a gas station. Ya me neither but I do know what happens when they all show up at an empty runway. Fortunately this time around Motor Trend with their Head to Head Camera crew were on the scene to document what the results where.
Nothing fancy in this video just a straight drag race pining the V8 car against the V10 one. With the winner taking on the V12 Lambo and onto the a 1/4 mile run against the king of the shoot-out, the quad turbo W16 Veyron.
We won’t ruin the ending but there weren’t any Game of Thornes’ type twists and turns in as the three wannabe kings battled for the title.
This year’s Geneva Auto Show has been a real winner as it was the launching pad for a number of major auto makers to show their higher end luxury cars to the world. Personally I am up for the show becoming more relevant as over the past 3-4 years it was really nothing more for high end tuner shops to show off concept cars that were outrageously styled and trimmed with only the finest unicorn horn inlays. This year was not a clean break from the one off concept insanity however it was a minor story as the show had more than a couple handfuls of car that will actually be sold in larger volumes around the world.
At the 2012 Geneva auto show we saw the official introduction of the Audi A3, BMW M6 Coupe, Ferrari F12berlinetta, Jaguar XF Sportbrake, Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Opel/Vauxhall Astra VXR, Porsche Boxster, and Volvo V40. Now don’t get us wrong as there was some craziness like the introduction of the Lamborghini Avantador J, Rinspeed Dock+Go, Giugiaro Brivido, and the Bertone Nuccio Concept. All of which will thankfully have a less than a 1% chance of ever seeing the light of day.
We will bring you more Geneva Auto show news early next week as the show continues to draw interest and questions from our followers. However in the mean time we present you two car launch videos from bitter rivals who were on a mission this show to one up the other!
In the red corner we have the newest V12 super car from Ferrari, it is the F12Berlinetta and it is one sexy Mammer Jammer!
And in the blue corner we find a newly created Hot Mess from Lamborghini that simply goes by the name “J”, which we think must be short for Joke.
We encourage you to check out both videos and vote below as to which one you like better. We will let you decide if you want to vote on the cars, the content of the video’s or even the video’s production value it is all up to you. Be sure to cast your vote as we are interested to see how which of these two Geneva show stoppers takes your breath away the most.
