A Porsche GT3 RS 4.0 Tribute to Pure Driving Awesomeness

Words cannot convey how jealous I am of Patrick Long in this Porsche video.  Forget the factious fact that this is his morning commute to work every day. I am incensed that the awesome Porsche GT3 RS 4.0 exists and I may never have the opportunity to drive one or even see one on the road.

I will give you the fact that the GT3 RS 4.0 is not the most beautify car that I have ever seen and sure the engine is in the wrong place and the interior has still little pull straps instead of proper door handles in a ridiculous effort to shave an additional 700 grams off of the total curb weight. However the thing that this car and all GT3’s are designed to do The GT3 RS 4.0 does better than any other Porsche GT3 that has come before it.

So just what task does the GT3 RS 4.0 set the new standard for?  Simple put it is the very best road legal track car in the world! This is a car that you can drive to the track in the morning race in all day long and then enjoy the slow drive back home again in. or in the case of the first video it is the perfect car to load up on a coffee run to ensure that Hurley Haywood a Porsche racing team legend get his morning cup-of-Joe on time and piping hot.

I have also included an awesome video the one of our favorite car hosts Chris Harris produced for the Drive network’s YouTube channel last week. It pits the Porsche GT3 RS 4.0 against the BMW M3 GTS and the Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series. These are very worthy opponents and in the video Chris allows the Porsche to pick them both apart on the road and track. It is also note worthy that the Porsche featured in the video is Chris Harris’ very own which should also speak volumes to the cars awesomeness as he is someone who has driven everything and knows his stuff.
