Monster Energy Trophy Truck stars in its own Gymkhana Style video

For those who can’t quite seem to get enough of seeing Gymkhana style videos, your in for a real treat today. In a new video released by Monster Energy’s we find BJ Baldwin’s trophy truck jumping over a Nissan GT-R in the desert. The impressive truck has 850 bhp (634 kW) and no less than 34 inches of suspension travel which makes it suitable for rough desert terrain. Monster Energy has taken it upon itself to throw those two together in a new short film that features Baldwin rescuing the female pilot of the GT-R by first jumping both her and her car in his desert bruiser.

The clip features plenty of shots of the truck bashing across the desert, slinging sand on scantily clad models and otherwise having a hell of a time. It’s automotive porn of the highest caliber!! BJ Baldwin eventually comes back to save the female pilot of the R35 and then continues his adventurous ride with the pedal to the metal, pushing the truck’s capabilities to its limits, and beyond.

Head to Head video – 2012 Nissan GT-R vs 2012 BMW M5

If you were not aware of just how amazing the Nissan GT-R is this head to head shootout video should make you a believer.  The new 2012 BMW M5 is an amazing car and I think that I would still prefer one over the GT-R simple because it is a true family saloon.  However if I was just looking to by a car for me it would be the cheaper GT-R.

I would love to see this test re-run when the M5 with the all-wheel drive option is released mostly a year or two years away as the GT-R’s advanced AWD system clearly helped it in the Cornering G and snake road track test.

Whichever car you are rooting for one this is for sure Autocar form the UK does a great and well rounded test.  However they do fail to mention that the two cars are not quite in the same league mainly because the M5 is a larger Saloon so it weight more than 550 pounds more than the GT-R.

Stock 2013 Nissan GT-R rockets to 100 km/h in 2.84 seconds

When we read that the 2013 GT-R was going to be faster than the 2012 model year car that it replaces we though, “sure it will be how can you improve on a car that is already mind blowingly fast?”  Well we have come across a video that shows us that the impossible can be accomplished as the car blazes a 0-100 km/h time in 2.84 seconds.

Nissan has declined to release official performance specifications, but this video will hopefully encourage them to step up to the plate.

Can a Nissan GT-R do an 8 Second Quarter Mile?

I’m not even going to bother setting this video up.  All you have to do is press play and be prepared to be amazed, as tuning shop AMS Performance shows off their latest insane creation.  The Alpha 12 Nissan GT-R is tuned to a tarmac shredding 1,318 horsepower running on a mere 35 PSI of boost.

Other info provided by AMS Performance:

History has been made! On Tuesday July 26th our AMS ALPHA 12 GT-R went back to the track with a little more favorable weather conditions. The result was the World’s First 8 Second R35 GT-R!

Even with a 1.668 60 foot time, the ALPHA 12 driven by our own Special Projects Technician, Ivan Phipps, went 8.975@169.49 mph!

60 foot 1.668
330ft 4.166
1/8th mile 6.042
1/8 mph 132.74
1000ft 7.634
1/4 8.975
1/4 mph 169.49

In addition the 60-130 time record was broken again with a 3.34 second blast from 60-130mph!! This makes the AMS Alpha 12 GT-R the fastest recorded street car to date from 60-130 mph!!!

Not bad for a true street car with air conditioning and all the other amenities of a GTR. You can drive this car to the store or across the country!
