Ride Along as Evo Magazine takes the Pagani Huayra out for a Test Drive

We were going to write about the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT today, with its power boost of an extra 20 hp along with its improved transmission tuning. However on Saturday Evo magazine trumped all other car related news with the release of a video documenting the very first Magazine review of the million dollar Pagani Huayra.

2012 Pagani Huayra – Front 3/4 or Sexy Side you decide

The entire car is a work of art even the footage of the image bay made my jaw drop open as it dramatically showed off the AMG-tuned twin-turbo 6.0-liter Mercedes V12 engine. In standard form, the turbocharged 5,980cc V12 will produce 700 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 664 pound-feet of torque from 2,500-4,250 rpm. The Sport version will make 730 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque. AMG adds new pistons, cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds and turbochargers. Horacio Pagani notes this turbocharged powertrain makes it possible to meet air emissions regulations, so he plans to get certification for the U.S. market.

One other cool part of the car that was captured in the video was the cars adaptive aerodynamics which is a series of active flaps in the front and at rear of the car. The flap technology is the same system used in the F117 nighthawk or the Stealth fighter jet uses to keep its unconventional design flying in the air.  In the Huayra’s case the system is used in reverse to maximize down force when the car needs to sick to the ground, like when cornering.  They system still allows the car it to maintaining its streamlined aerodynamic state when blasting to its top speed of 235 mph or 380 km/h.

2012 Pagani Huayra – Rear 3/4

The Pagani Huayra truly does meet all of the requirements necessary to be considered a true modern day super car.  But don’t take my word for it, watch the video below and establish your own conclusions.

Enjoy the video and don’t blame us for the constant squeaking we are sure it wasn’t the can and had something to do with the Camera equipment however it doesn’t reflect Evo Magazines usually high standards.

A Short Documentary on the Pagani Huayra

We are going to offer our readers a break from our Geneva Auto show coverage to bring to you a unique documentary on the Pagani Huayra.  In this short 15 minute film we are taken through the manufacturing process of many of the cars key components such as occupant’s safety cell, exhaust system and interior creation.  This short film is the perfect balance of cause and effect design and manufacturing and once you have watched it you will have a new appreciation for what the Brand Pagani stands for.

Over the past week I have been watching more of my fair share of the national Geographic’s show Mega Factories in which they spend 42 minutes showing how different cars, trucks and SUV’s are manufactured and put together.  As a result of this we can let you know that it is hard to keep the entertainment values high during such a show.  The Huayra documentary is truly the perfect length of time and it has a great mix of content that will satisfy the engineer, designer, skilled laborer, and driver that lives in side of us.

The Pagani Huayra truly does meet all of the requirements necessary to be considered a true modern day super car.  But don’t take my word for it, watch the video below and establish your own conclusions.

Visit a Pagani Huayra at the Factory and on the Road

We are happy to present the latest video release from eGarage who have create a short film of the Pagain Huayra.  eGarage has noted that this is only a teaser clip and that there is more to come which only puts a smile on my face.

I wasn’t too disappointed with the sounds and smoke that the 720 horsepower 6.0-liter V12 twin-turbo was making.

We can’t wait for the official video to hit Vimeo and will be sure to post it here.  Until then enjoy this short trailer video and have a great weekend.

Evo Magazine gets the First Pagani Huayra Ride Along

This is the only ride along video that had been posted on YouTube as of yet.  So the first thing we have to do is thank Evo Magazine, in particular Harry Metcalfe who while at an event for Pagani Zonda Owners on the island of Sardinia Italy, got to film this ride along video.

Make sure you turn up your speakers for this one as the noise that the twin-turbos are making from the inside of the cabin is like something I’ve never heard before.  If you only watch from the 3 minute mark to the 4 minute mark you won’t be disappointed.  I also don’t think that Harry was too disappointed with the 720 horsepower that the 6.0-liter V12 twin-turbo was making.

The one part of the car that wasn’t captured and explained on the video but was cars Adaptive aerodynamics which is a series of active flaps in the front and at rear of the car.

I can’t wait to see this bad boy cursing around the top gear test track as the car sounds like it will be right around the top of the leader board.

Pagani Huayra on the Track

They should have titled this video Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, instead of Start, Rev, Accelerations and Fly Bys.  This title is much more filling and once you have watched this master piece you won’t hunger for anything other than the New Pagani Huayra.  This is without a doubt the most complete Huayra video I have seen to date and it does more than imply how awesome this car will be when released to the public.

If you squint you can almost see Richard Hamond driving it through some European country and hear Jeremy Clarkson praising it as he trashes it around a track.
